My 7th-12th grade years in high school have been far from a cake walk. I have experienced the harsh reality that being different and not going with the "norm" is not accepted. I have witnessed the cliques that walk the hallways thinking they are better than everyone else and the verbal abuse that has become a regular thing. You know what I'm talking about. The snide remarks that girls say to each other and the unaccepting groups that make fun of those who are different. I have experienced it all and was apart of these groups at one point. Over the years I let the pressures of fitting in make me into someone that I did not want to be. I conformed to society's standards instead of staying true to myself all because I wanted to be liked and have ALOT of friends. I have created this website to empower young ladies to stand strong in who they are and to not conform to what the world is telling them. Every girl is beautiful in their own way. We are all DIFFERENT and that is how it is supposed to be.
All girls feel pressured to "fit in." Being different is a good thing. The things that make you different are what make you, YOU! We each have something special to offer. Don't let the media pressure you in to acting, dressing, or talking a certain way. Stand strong in who YOU are and be PROUD of who you are.
